A Sanctuary in the City
Welcome to Carers Project, an intimate sanctuary in the city that invites you to imagine how our city would be if we all gave ourselves a bit more time.
Under the direction of Jodee Mundy, the Carers Project has been engaging with twenty primary carers in Melbourne and encouraging them to share their experiences through a series of workshops, shared stories, daily diary entries, drawings and phone conversations.
The role of a primary carer is sometimes underplayed in our society, but the enormity of this role and the effort expended by individual carers benefits the whole community. Often unpaid, carers are the primary providers of transport, personal care, meals, cleaning services and a myriad of other tasks to the person they assist. Their stories have informed this immersive art installation.
